My whale watching experience was superb! I went on Lady Frances with Capt Cole, Mike & Shayne and they were terrific. On the way out to the "whale zone," they guided us as to what we should do and, once there, they spent a good amount of time just hanging out by the whales so that we could get a good look. We were lucky to have a naturalist named Brian on board who also narrated what we were seeing so that we could identify the different types of whales (thanks, Brian -- I learned more from you in one hour than I did in middle school biology!). I can't even describe what it's like to see these magnificent creatures up close -- it is soul-stirring to say the least. I liked that the crew and Frances Fleet showcased their reverence and respect for the whales, both in person and on their website (which emphasizes that we humans are guests on whale terf and not the other way around). The website was easy to use and there was plenty of free parking. I will most definitely go back and do this again and again!
Friendly staff. Enjoyed whale watching. Also saw dolphin on the way. The tour started 1 p.m to 5:30 p.m. More than 3 hours to travel forth and back.
I booked online. Whale watching is only in few days a month. Plan your visit in advance. Fishing tour is another option.
We went on the boat this past summer. My wife and I have been on fishing boats plenty of times, never gotten sick. They should of warned us about the waves. We wouldn't have gone out. They were so huge, we both got sick as soon as we got to the fishing area. We both didn't fish at all we were so sick. We feel that they should of given us a heads up at the ticket counter, I guess sales are more important.
This was an incredible whale-watching trip! Not only did we see a pod of 6 whales that included a mother and calf, but they put on quite a show for us, and got so close to the boat. The captain and crew were outstanding - engaged with all the guests, friendly, and attentive. We had choppy water on the way out but the captain is clearly very skilled and handled it all with ease. This was worth every single penny for our group of 6. Cannot recommend enough.
It was good. I don't feel they were clear on the ride. You go about 1.5hour to the location to see whales and the. 1.5 hours back. Saw nothing on the 3 hour part. Nice ride, great crew just would have preferred to know I was mostly riding on a boat, the seats weren't comfortable. But we did see whales and they tried hard to get closer and good views. I understand they can't control nature.
We had a great time! The deck hands were great, the fishing could have been better, but the captain put us on fish. Tautog and Black Sea bass in the fridge and in our plate!
We loved our fishing trip! We went way out and did catch fish. First mate was excellent. We actually saw a whale, which was very cool! The only negative thing was that there was no water or food available for purchase. So glad we brought our own.
Frances Fleet was an amazing experience for our family. We were only going to fish one day, we ended up to 3 because the kids enjoyed it so much. The crew were very helpful and easy going. We all caught a ton of fish and had a great time!
